Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent girls need good nutritional status in helping adolescent growth including the regularity of the menstrual cycle. Adolescent girls who experience less or more nutritional intake can cause reproductive function disorders and have an impact on menstrual disorders. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the menstrual cycle in adolescent girls at PS D3 Midwifery FKM UMI Makassar City. Methods: using an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were all adolescent girls at PS D3 Midwifery FKM UMI Makassar City. The sampling technique used total sampling technique, namely the entire population was sampled in the study. Data collection using a menstrual cycle questionnaire and observation sheet of weight and height measurements. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test at a significance level of 95% (α ≤ 0.05). Results: The results of the study using chi square analysis obtained a p value = 0.340, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between nutritional status (BMI) with the menstrual cycle of adolescents in Makassar city.
