Exclusive breastfeeding is a crucial intervention in reducing infant morbidity and mortality. However, primiparous mothers often face barriers such as low motivation and self-confidence in breastfeeding. Lactation education is a strategic approach to improving mothers’ psychological readiness to provide exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to determine the effect of lactation education on the motivation and self-confidence of primiparous mothers at UPTD Langara Public Health Center. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 30 primiparous mothers selected Exclusive breastfeeding is a crucial intervention in reducing infant morbidity and mortality. Motivation and self-confidence were measured using questionnaires before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant increase in mothers’ motivation and self-confidence after lactation education with a ρ-value <0.000. Lactation education proved effective in enhancing the psychological readiness of primiparous mothers to provide exclusive breast feedinging purposive sampling.
