Abstract

Pregnancy and childbirth are among the most anticipated and joyful moments for a mother. However, the transition to motherhood may also bring excessive worries, particularly as the time of delivery approaches, with varying levels of anxiety ranging from mild to severe. Antenatal care plays an important role in preparing mothers both physically and psychologically for childbirth. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of antenatal care visits on maternal readiness in facing childbirth. This research was conducted in Makassar using a non-experimental quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 76 mothers who gave birth using a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used simple linear regression analysis to determine the effect of the two variables. The results showed that the t-count value was 3.971, while the P-value was 0.000, so the P-value was < 5% (0.000<0.005), meaning that the ANC visit variable significantly influenced labor readiness. This shows that the more prepared the mother is for childbirth, the more antenatal visits she will have, and vice versa. The conclusion is based on the average age of the respondents in the reproductive age range, between 20 and 35 years. The average respondent has a high school education/equivalent. The respondents are multiparous, and there is an influence of antenatal care visits on the readiness of mothers to deal with childbirth in the city of Makassar.
